Early sales numbers for Thanksgiving eve and the holiday itself shows a clear trend toward electronic shopping, particularly mobile. Adobe says a record number of consumers used their mobile devices to make purchases. it predicts $1.7 billion will be spent during the 24 hour Thursday period. Meanwhile, channel advisor says Amazon (AMZN) sales were up 31% compared to Thanksgiving last year. It says eBay (EBAY) Thanksgiving sales grew 11% from last year. It’s been a black friday for Chinese shares. The Shanghai stock market dropped 5% for its worst day since August. The selling came amid signs its securities regular was making a fresh clampdown on leveraged buying. Costco (COST) has pinned down the cause of an E. coli outbreak. The multi-state outbreak sickened at least 19 people who ate the store’s rotisserie chicken salad has been traced to a celery-and-onion mix used in the salad. The California maker of the salad mix has recalled the product.
