Merck shares climbed higher Friday after the drug maker posted second-quarter results. Earnings of $0.93 a share barely beat analysts’ forecasts. Merck reported revenue of $9.84 billion for the period, up 1%. But Merck lowered its financial forecast for the year citing higher restructuring and other costs. The company now expects full-year earnings in the range of $1.98 to $2.08 a share and adjusted earnings between $3.67 and $3.77 a share. Merck shares are up 11% since the beginning of the year.
