Majority Leader Steve Scalise (R-La.) and Judiciary Chairman Jim Jordan (R-Ohio), both formally announced Wednesday they will run for Speaker of the House after Rep. Kevin McCarthy was ousted, sending letters to their colleagues asking for support. Rep. Steve Womack (R-Ark.) discusses why he is supporting Scalise for speaker, “If his doctors are in, if Jennifer – his wife — is in, I’m in.” Sen. Michael Bennet (D-Colo.) says he’d “certainly be willing” to force a shutdown if Ukraine aid is not included in the government funding bill.
