Man arrested, park evacuated after 3 people shot at State Fair of Texas

DALLAS – A suspect is in custody after three people were shot and injured at the State Fair of Texas, according to Dallas police.

The incident happened around 7:45 p.m., Saturday, at the state fairgrounds.

Police said they received a report of an active shooter in the food court area of the tower building, prompting an evacuation of fair visitors.

A man pulled a gun and shot at another man, Dallas police told WFAA. Three people were hit by the gunfire, but their injuries were non-life-threatening.

The shooter ran from police but was soon taken into custody, WFAA reports. His identity hasn’t been released.

Authorities said the gun involved in the shooting has also been recovered.

Video obtained by KSAT shows chaos as fairgoers rushed to leave the park after reports of the shooting surfaced.

Police said they have identified all of the people involved in the shooting but further details are limited.
