LionsGate is pinning its hopes on Divergent to be its next blockbuster a la The Hunger Games, but early reviews are in and the critics aren’t falling for Beatrice the same way they did Katniss. But does critical acclaim matter? Divergent has already sold more than 17 million book copies worldwide so the fan potential exists. Box office analysts forecast opening weekend sales between $50 million and $68 million, while ticketing site Fandango said advance sales have exceeded Twilight.
