Shares of Kroger were lower Wednesday. The supermarket chain has emerged as a buyer for stores of Rite Aid . The drugstore chain is close to being acquired by Walgreens Boots Alliance , but Rite Aid would have to sell off overlapping assets in order to appease regulators. (Walgreens is a holding in Jim Cramer’s Action Alerts PLUS portfolio).
