Viewers should listen to financial media pundits to gain the context to make better long term decisions about their financial goals, not to predict the future or make a quick buck, says Joshua Brown, co-author of “Clash of the Financial Pundits”. Brown, a frequent CNBC contributor, says financial pundits were not expected to call the top of the credit bubble and therefore should not be blamed for missing the subsequent market crash. Finally, Brown says Americans should try to overcome their short attention spans and read classic investing books instead of being swayed by daily stock news.
