Hamas has released two more hostages, two Israeli women in their 70s and 80s, bringing the total number of hostages freed to four. More than 200 hostages remained captured by Hamas, Israel said. Israel thanked Egypt and the International Committee for the Red Cross, and The Washington Post has reported that Qatar was also involved in the mediation efforts. The Israel Defense Forces intensified air strikes on Gaza, saying on Tuesday that it hit hundreds of targets in the enclave, including a seaside camp that hosted tens of thousands of refugees. Palestinian authorities said the strike in the al-Shati refugee camp killed and wounded scores of Palestinians late Monday.
