Internet Week New York kicked off with Mayor DeBlasio talking about disruption and the new tech initiatives for the city. The Mayor plans on turning old phone booths into internet hot spots. This tech conference is unique in that it is about much more than gadgets and the latest app – it brings together the latest in internet trends, combining social media, hardware and even fashion. There are classes in addition to presentations by some of the smartest minds in the internet world. The conference lasts for a week with events every day and night.
