ChatGPT Images 2.5 surprised me with some seriously weird ideas. I test OpenAI’s new image model and view some wonderfully cursed creations from the MattVidPro Discord. My verdict: an upgrade over Images 2.0, especially in how it handles complicated ideas, with familiar limits still showing up.

A couple of clarifications: the LEGO experiment used Codex’s built-in image tool, which did not expose its exact backend version. The cause of the repeating texture I discuss is unconfirmed. “Spicy Mayo” is the preview codename discussed in the linked post; its final model identity was not confirmed there.
