Hurricane Milton raced toward Florida’s Gulf Coast, where landfall was expected Wednesday evening. Storm surge of 13 feet or more was expected, with more than a foot or more of rain. Sarasota braced for a direct hit from Hurricane Milton, with the threat of storm surge potentially causing catastrophic damage to homes and other buildings. NBC News’ Tom Llamas reports.
