It is believed that more than 5,000 children were intentionally separated from their parents at the U.S. southern border during the Trump administration under the controversial zero-tolerance policy. NBC’s Jacob Soboroff spoke with one of them as advocates now say that number is higher and includes children who were actually born in the U.S.
