Most startups fail simply due to the Law of Large Numbers, says David S. Rose, author of “Angel Investing” and CEO of Gust. However, potential angels can profit handsomely – and have fun – if they diversify their investments and understand the risks. Due to the rise of platforms like Gust and Kickstarter, Rose says individuals have the opportunity to become angels like never before. He advises against chasing hot technologies currently in the market in favor of startups that look to the future.
