A new Intel (INTC) survey says a dying smartphone battery is the biggest grievance for consumers traveling this holiday season. Some 30 percent of respondents ranked lack of power in personal technology items as their biggest pet peeve, eclipsing the 22 percent who said crying babies on an airplane was their most pressing frustration. Over half of respondents said forgetting chargers at home and weak Wi-Fi connection was a grievance when traveling this holiday season. ‘I think people expect to have a great experience on all of their devices and they get frustrated when it doesn’t happen,’ said Karen Regis, a consumer client marketing manager at Intel. For millennials, the frustration was even more pronounced. 70 percent of those ages 18 to 34 had pet peeves of forgetting a battery charger or poor Wi-Fi strength, compared to 53 percent of Generation X and 38 percent of baby boomers. Plus, despite the rise of tablets and smartphones, 82 percent of consumers saw value in PCs. TheStreet’s Scott Gamm reports from New York.
