Haney narrowly retains undisputed title by unanimous decision

Boxing’s stacked lightweight division gave the world another classic fight Saturday with Devin Haney coming out on top of a closely contested battle with Vasiliy Lomachenko. Haney retained the undisputed lightweight championship though fans in attendance saw the fight differently.

Haney heard the boos at the MGM Grand Garden Arena after his unanimous decision victory over Lomachenko was announced. Judges scored it 116-112, 115-113 and 115-113 for the still undefeated Haney. Yahoo Sports’ Kevin Iole scored it 116-112 for Lomachenko.
