While Republicans ratchet up criticism of Democrats by arguing that Obamacare is hurting private and small businesses, data suggests this isn’t the case. Sageworks, which collects metrics on private companies, says sales and profits continue to improve. Sageworks chairman Brian Hamilton tells TheStreet’s Joe Deaux the lagging U.S. gross domestic product has a lot to do with slowed government spending. However, Hamilton points out that for the first time in ten years, improving private company health is running counter to lagging GDP reports.
