According to Google, artificial intelligence could save you about a week’s worth of work every year. In a new report released by the tech giant, it was revealed pilot programs started in Britain showed the use of AI for administrative tasks could save workers 120 hours a year. It also showed the U.K. could gain more than $500 billion from AI-driven economic growth.
Google says that taking simple steps — like training — could help double the number of people using AI on a daily basis. Another thing that would go a long way in upping usage is permission. According to a Google executive associated with the report — “People wanted ‘permission to prompt. Is it okay for me to be doing this?’ And so giving them that reassurance was really important.”
The report also showed two-thirds of workers had never used artificial intelligence at work. But Google says that after just a few hours of training, workers were using the technology at double the rate and were still using it several months later.
