GM CEO Mary Barra, speaking in New York City at the J.D. Power Automotive Forum on Tuesday, says the automaker will launch a group within GM which will focus on the safety and performance of cars and trucks that are in the development stage in a move to prevent issues like the ignition switch recall. GM’s VP of Global Product Development Mark Reuss will lead the organization in addition to his other duties. Also, Barra declined to provide a specific timetable on fixing the recalled cars.
