The nation’s biggest automakers release mixed auto sales for April, with Chrysler and General Motors among those reporting the biggest gains. Chrysler reported April auto sales that rose 14% from a year ago, marking its 49th straight month of monthly sales growth. That’s also stronger than the 9% increase expected for the industry, according to Thomson Reuters. General Motors reported April U.S. sales that rose 6.9% — despite its recall of about 7 million vehicles since February.
