The frigid winter weather won’t hurt first quarter retail earnings as much as people expect, most notably because of the rise of e-commerce, says Todd Rosenbluth, Director of ETF & Mutual Fund Research at S&P Capital IQ. Rosenbluth is bullish on consumer discretionary ETFs, as well as the materials sector which showed strong earnings growth in Q4 2013. Finally, he is positive on financial stocks, especially insurance companies, after the sector grew earnings 17% in Q4 of last year.
