As Apple (AAPL) announced Apple Music and iOS9 at WWDC 2015, a former Apple CEO says the company is able to look to the future thanks to the foundations set by Steve Jobs. Former CEO John Sculley reflects back on his relationship with Jobs during his tenure at Apple. Sculley, who served as CEO at Apple from the early 1980’s through the early 1990’s, recently wrote a book about business leadership and opportunity called ‘Moonshot!’ Sculley said he spent five months getting to know Steve Jobs before joining Apple, and that he was not the first choice to run the company. Sculley who had served as the CEO of Pepsi (PEP), where he launched such marketing campaigns as The Pepsi Challenge, said he was brought to Apple for two reasons: his marketing skills and to serve as Job’s partner while he was developing the Macintosh. In his book, Sculley credits changing technology for creating new transformative business opportunities. Those technologies include cloud computing, mobile and big data.
