While attendees of this year’s Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas were wowed by wearables and stunned by streaming new products, it may be the cars, and not the chips, that make the most news this year. Monday’s Mercedes announcement and debut of a futuristic driverless car set social media on fire, and when Ford stepped up to the plate Tuesday, CEO Mark Fields promised he wouldn’t disappoint. But, for driverless car fans, that means a longer wait until Ford’s automated debut. What’s coming next? Big data initiatives and ride-sharing in Ford cars, as Fields and Ford look to the next generation.
