First Solar announced on Wednesday a net sales forecast of $4 billion for the year. This sent the companies’ shares sky high, up thirteen percent. It also expects earnings between $2.20 and $2.60 a share. First Solar also announced a major partnership with General Electric to create a utility scale solar power plant. First Solar said “this is a significant step in establishing the next generation power plant” using their thin film solar modules and GE’s transformers.”
