Few potential suitors are likely to make a play for Easton Bell Sports’ hockey division, meaning the sporting goods company may fetch a lower-than-desired price. It was only a month ago that Bauer Performance Sports snagged Easton’s baseball and softball business for $330 million, representing 9 times EBITDA. Bauer would probably only pay 5 or 6 times for Easton’s hockey business given its already high market share, though other players may be willing to pay closer to 8 times.
