Rising consumer confidence can be seen nightly at the circus, as well as in Wall Street’s monthly data, said Nicole Feld, Executive Vice President of Feld Entertainment. Feld Entertainment is a family-owned, privately-held business which produces Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus, Disney on Ice and Monster Jam. Feld added that the company attempts to make the circus affordable for a family so they generally resist pressure to raise prices. She said lower oil prices have helped attendance as those discretionary dollars are being shifted from the gas pump to live entertainment. Finally, Feld said the ‘Frozen’ phenomenon has been fabulous and she would certainly welcome a Disney sequel for an ice show.
