Corn prices have fallen in the past year and that will provide a strong tailwind for Ingredion’s earnings, says John Burke, founder of Burke Financial Services. He is also a fan of MeadWestvaco which gets 34% of its sales to emerging markets, including a fast growing Asia business. Finally, Burke is bullish on Phillip Morris which was hurt by increased taxes in the Philippines and Turkey last year, but saw revenue in the first quarter benefit from price increases.
