Attractive fixed-income opportunities can be found in a rising rate environment if you know where to look, says David Leduc, portfolio manager for the Dreyfus Opportunistic Fixed Income Fund. Leduc is able to “go anywhere” to find the best bonds, both along the yield curve as well as geographically where he is finding opportunities in places like Slovakia and Spain. Back home, Leduc says he owns short dated Treasuries and he sees the yield on the 10 year Treasury Note rising as high as 3.6% later this year.
