Whether its because of the Mad Men phenomena or the belief that the economy is slowly improving, spirits sales are on the rise in the United States. Dark colored spirits like rye and bourbon are seeing annual sales growth of 7% versus wine at 5%, says Tom Steffanci President of Deutsch Family Wine & Spirits. Deutsch started as an importer back in 1982 but has since moved on to own their brands. Redemption Whiskey is one of them. Deutsch is privately held, but there are public companies in this arena that investors may want to consider adding to their portfolios. For instance, MGP Ingredients is the distillery where Deutsch sources its whiskey and the ascent of the stock mirrors the ascent of whiskey.
