Costco topped estimates on earnings for the second straight quarter, and shares have been rising in the second half of the year. Falling fuel prices looks to be a boon for the bulk retailer, and when Costco announced earnings last week, rising net income, net sales and earnings provided the stock another boost. Bur during an increasingly digital holiday shopping season, Costco — like another big competitor on public markets, Target — isn’t making any ground on big retailer online.
