Colgate Palmolive (CL) reported first quarter earnings of $0.66 in line with analyst estimates. Revenue was down almost 6 percent coming in at $4.07 billion as the consumer products maker saw it’s third straight quarter of falling sales. Colgate raised prices in emerging markets to offset losses, but the strength of the dollar has pushed the company to cut its 2015 profit forecast for the second time since January. An American woman was recently awarded a $13 million payout from Colgate Palmolive. The jury in Los Angeles ruled that she contracted a deadly disease from using asbestos-tainted talcum powder manufactured by the company. Shares of Colgate Palmolive were down on the earnings news.
