Chipotle will open new locations in the region in 2026.
Transcript:
Chipotle is going global – and K-Pop fans are likely cheering.
The burrito chain just announced its first expansion into Asia. It’s opening locations in South Korea and Singapore in 2026 through a joint venture with Korean restaurant operator SPC Group.
Chipotle already has 3,800+ restaurants, 98% in the U.S., but it’s been testing international growth in Canada, Europe, the Middle East, and soon Mexico.
And the hype isn’t just from US diners – K-Pop stars love it too. Members of a top K-pop girl group admitted they “couldn’t live without Chipotle” despite not being able to access it in Korea.
Even with its fan-favorite status, Wall Street isn’t impressed – shares are down nearly 40% in 2025.
That’ll do it for your daily briefing. From the New York Stock Exchange, I’m Caroline Woods with TheStreet.
