AT&T is preparing a bid for DirecTV that could top $45 billion, and shares are up about five percent for the open. AT&T is looking to transition DirecTV to the stream, as other competitors, including Time Warner Cable and Comcast, which have plans to merge, are taking transitions online with consumers cutting the cord. Next, it remains to be seen what lawmakers have to say about the deal.
