GoPro is reportedly planning to expand its international distribution to include China this year. That’s according to a report by the Financial Times, which noted that the move would reduce the company’s reliance on the U.S. market, after a record launch for its new Hero 4 action cameras over the holiday selling season. It would also be in line with findings from Morgan Stanley analyst James Faucette, who noted that significant demand for GoPro over the holidays appeared to be coming from overseas, given anecdotes from retailers of mass purchases by tourists at major metropolitan locations. Faucette also said retailers indicated little perceived competition from Sony and Garmin. He has an EQUAL WEIGHT rating on the stock.
