California’s AI safety bill, SB 1047 passed the state assembly and now goes to the state senate. The bill has drawn criticism and praise from major tech leaders, startups, venture capitalists, and academics. Russell Wald, deputy director for the Stanford Institute for Human-Centered Artificial Intelligence, joins “Bloomberg Technology” to explain why some academics like him are concerned about the bill.
