The fundamental skills necessary for success in the brothel industry are the same for any service business, said Dennis Hof, author of ‘The Art of the Pimp.’ Hof owns 40% of the legal brothels in North America including the Moonlite BunnyRanch featured on the HBO hit CatHouse. He said the employees that have the ‘most fun’ and are the best communicators garner the most repeat business, which is crucial to increasing the top line. Hof added that the best dealmakers are not necessarily the prettiest employees, but the ones with the best people and social media skills. Finally, Hof predicted that prostitution will eventually be legalized now that marijuana is garnering huge tax revenue.
