Recessions are notoriously difficult to predict, but there are some key factors that can indicate when a recession may be near: GDP, the yield curve, and a few others. But a single-day or a single-week decline in the market does not mean a recession is happening. The markets and the economy are closely linked, but they’re not the same thing.
