Apple Pay is getting bigger – moving deeper into the restaurant space. Starting in 2016, Apple Pay will be available at Starbucks (SBUX), Chili’s and KFC restaurants. Starbucks had previously implemented Square’s payment technology in stores. Starbucks expects Apple Pay to be embedded into 7,500 locations by the end of next year. The announcement also coming on the heels of competition from Samsung Pay, which started serving consumers on September 28. Apple Pay launched a year ago in about 220,000 store locations, including Macy’s (M), Whole Foods (WFM) and Target (TGT), among others. TheStreet’s Scott Gamm reports from New York.
