Anthropic CEO’s wife once asked Jeffrey Epstein to fund porn venture — now she helps steer the Claude AI empire
ShareShareShareShareShare

Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei’s wife Cami Clark played a bigger role in the AI juggernaut’s meteoric rise than previously known after her own forays in entrepreneurship – which included a failed fundraising pitch to late financier and sex offender Jeffrey Epstein for a “luxury” porn startup, according to a report.

Before she met the AI guru, Clark and a friend started a “revolutionary porn company” aimed at making classy smut that was billed as “intellectually promiscuous,” the Wall Street Journal reported.

The company, called Eddice, reportedly had a website that featured content with titles like “Lady Porn Day” and “Orgasm, Inc.”

Cami Clark and Dario Amodei married in 2022, though scant details about her exist online.

After an intro to Epstein in 2011, Clark reportedly sent him a warm follow-up, writing: “Hello Jeffrey! We would love to have dinner with you this evening.” She sent him her cellphone number, too.

Clark followed up by writing, “We thought you and the ladies might enjoy the script/treatment for our first 4 films, American Girl in Paris. A little nsfw,” or Not Safe For Work.

A year later, Clark wrote Epstein again to pitch him on investing in her business, which she said had just hired someone from Oprah Winfrey’s company and Ashton Kutcher’s Katalyst, the media company tha launched shows like “Punk’d.”

When Epstein at first didn’t recall her, Clark wrote, “We have the free luxury porn company. Does that ring a bell?”

Epstein wrote back, “Yes, a loud gong,” prompting a playful reply from Clark: “Haha, I was going to say, you would be the first person that didn’t remember us.”

Epstein, who was a registered sex offender at the time, turned down the offer, saying, “Can’t do sex TV.”

Clark stayed in touch with Epstein over two years, the Journal reported, inviting him to a Manhattan housewarming party for her and her porn biz cofounder Michelle Capocefalo.

In 2013, Epstein reportedly received a LinkedIn message stating he should congratulate Clark for becoming CEO of “Female Algorithm Technologies” – online traces of which include a Tumblr account featuring photos of nude women, a pic of Steve Jobs and mottos such as “Great Minds F— Each Other” and “Let’s Make Lots of Money,” according to the Journal.

The relationship was part of a colorful series of adventures among the world’s tech and business elite for Clark, who is known to keep a low profile. Searches for “Dario Amodei’s wife” on Google often turn up a photograph of his sister, Daniela Amodei, who helps run Anthropic, the Journal noted. Anthropic’s AI chatbot Claude is wont to tell users, “Dario Amodei’s marital status doesn’t seem to be clearly confirmed.”

Just before meeting Amodei, Clark dated Google’s co-founder Eric Schmidt for about three years, according to the Journal.

Little is known about the relationship, but they apparently stayed on good terms – after she reportedly began dating Amodei in 2014, she put her ex- in touch with her new beau.

Schmidt visited the young couple’s apartment in San Francisco in 2018 before becoming one of Anthropic’s key early investors as it got off the ground in 2021, according to the Journal.

While Clark doesn’t officially work at Anthropic, her fingerprints are all over the company as it races toward a public listing that could top $2 trillion this fall.

She acts as Amodei’s strategic adviser and is often seen sitting front and center while her husband talks at events like Davos. Clark can be seen schmoozing with investors at the glitzy Allen & Co. conference in Sun Valley, too.

The outgoing spouse has rubbed shoulders with politicians and potential investors on behalf of Amodei, chatting them up and bringing them over to meet her husband at conferences and events, the Journal reported.

Clark was born in Reno, Nev., in 1979, never graduated from college, and married a man 44 years her senior when she was just 20, according to the newspaper. She and the man – Reno architect Waldemar Eklof III, who designed buildings including Reno’s Atlantis Casino Resort – reportedly divorced after three years.

The Epstein connection reportedly came through John Brockman, a literary agent of scientific books who introduced the perv to academics and Silicon Valley elites.

A networking maven herself, Clark reportedly introduced Mira Murati – a close friend and onetime colleague at a VR company – to OpenAI co-founder Greg Brockman. Murati joined the Anthropic rival in 2018 as VP of applied AI and partnerships and eventually became the company’s head of technology.

The Post has sought comment from Anthropic.
