Alexander Energy outbid at least three other firms before successfully joining forces with fellow oil producer Renegade Petroleum. The new entity will be called Spartan Energy and will be led by Alexander’s current CEO, Richard McHardy, who previously led several oil companies to their buyouts. Could Spartan be next?
