Party City (PRTY), Virtu Financial (VIRT) and Etsy (ETSY), after pricing at the top of their ranges, began trading on Thursday to receptive investors who opened all three stocks higher. Party supplies and costume retailer Party City closed trading at nearly $21 per share, more than 20% higher than where it priced, which was $17. Meanwhile, online marketplace Etsy priced its IPO at $16 per share and then witnessed its stock close trading at $30, a roughly 84% jump. As for high frequency trading firm Virtu Financial, it priced its stock at $19 per share and closed trading on Thursday at above $22. That’s an increase of almost 16%. The trio of successful IPOs demonstrate continued investor appetite for new opportunities as valuations continue to rise.
