The economy added 295,000 jobs in February, beating forecasts of 230,000, in yet another sign the labor market is improving. The unemployment rate dipped to 5.5% and January’s numbers were revised downward to 239,000 from 257,000. There’s still plenty of room for improvement in the job market, especially when it comes to wages, which have remained tepid throughout the economic recovery. TheStreet’s Scott Gamm speaks with Jerry Webman, chief economist at OppenheimerFunds to analyze the numbers, discuss wage growth going forward and what this report means for the Federal Reserve and its looming policy shift.
