European markets are torn between hopes the Fed will delay tightening after a week first quarter and concerns that a solution to the Greek debt crisis may be impossible to find. There’s excitement in the online casinos this morning as rivals start bidding for Gibraltar-based Internet gambling company Bwin.party. Rival 888 Holdings has made a cash and shares approach for Bwin.party – which has a market capitalization of $1.36 billion. There are also reports of a rival bid from a combination of Canada’s Amaya Inc. and another smaller player GVC, based in the Isle of Man. U.S. and French electric companies seen eyeing British engineering software group Aveva.
