Greece sends the markets Tumbling. British retailer Poundland Group plc tumbles 4%, despite an 11.4% sales increase to over $1.6 billion. Shareholders are unhappy that its growth appears to be slowing. It’s had a challenging few months, but is looking forward to better times in the seasonally more important second half. Israeli betting software maker, Playtech plc, which is listed in London, announces a $400 million equity raise, saying it will used the money to pay for the takeover of another Israel-based, London listed company, the contracts for difference broker Plus500 Ltd. Playtech is also looking at the acquisition of another, unnamed mid-sized broker as it looks to expand its online broking business. It’s up to the political leaders now to solve the Greek crisis, as Eurozone finance ministers are unlikely to reach a solution at their meeting today.
