Stocks traded higher in midday trading Thursday, following the Supreme Court upholding Federal subsidies stemming from Obamacare. The decision is sending shares of hospitals higher. Hospitals like Tenet Healthcare (THC) and Community Health Systems (CYH) are seeing double-digit gains, as is health insurance company Aetna (AET). Meanwhile, a three hour meeting was held in Brussels between Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras and European leaders, though no deal was reached, according to The Guardian. And consumer spending rising 0.9% in May, according to a report from the Bureau of Economic Analysis, that’s the largest increase in about six years. Plus, Federal Reserve Governor Daniel Tarullo speaking in NY, making no comments on economy or monetary policy, but spoke about regulation as we approach the fifth anniversary of Dodd-Frank. ‘If you have a dynamic financial system which we hope always to have, you need to have an adaptive regulatory system in order to try to ensure the basic stability of that innovative financial system,’ he said.
