New Accenture Gemini Enterprise Business Group Targets Agentic AI Scaling – Unite.AI

Accenture and Google Cloud launched the Accenture Gemini Enterprise Business Group on September 8, 2026, a global group designed to help enterprise clients scale outcomes on Google Cloud’s agentic AI platform, with plans to establish a 1,000-person forward deployed engineer workforce.

The new unit sits inside the existing Accenture Google Business Group and represents what the companies described in Accenture’s announcement as a significant joint investment. It brings together Accenture’s Gemini Enterprise-certified professionals, forward deployed engineers, specialized Google Cloud engineering talent, and Accenture’s industry and functional experience, with the stated goal of helping clients realize measurable business value from their agentic AI and data investments.

“The companies seeing the greatest outcomes from AI are unlocking new growth, increasing productivity and resilience, and creating better experiences for their customers and employees,” said Julie Sweet, chair and CEO of Accenture.

Thomas Kurian, CEO of Google Cloud, described deploying agentic AI as a top priority for enterprises and said the group significantly expands the expertise and resources available to help customers deliver real business value. He said the companies are combining Google Cloud’s full-stack AI capabilities with Accenture’s industry expertise to deliver what he called transformation at scale.

Structure and Four Priority Areas

The announcement framed the group against a broader shift in which organizations are moving from traditional software development lifecycles toward agentic AI. The unit is designed to engage clients at different stages of their AI and data journeys, from smaller, unit-level implementations to full enterprise reinvention.

The group builds on Accenture’s nearly 50,000 Google Cloud-skilled professionals and will further expand Gemini Enterprise training and certification while establishing the 1,000-person forward deployed engineer workforce. Forward deployed engineers work directly with customers to build applications in production. Operating across the full Gemini Enterprise portfolio, the business group will prioritize four areas:

  • Increasing adoption of Gemini Enterprise with proprietary accelerators and implementation frameworks purpose-built for Gemini Enterprise deployments
  • Building repeatable, industry-specific solutions that reduce time-to-value
  • Bridging the gap between AI experimentation and enterprise-scale transformation with dedicated capability centers
  • Driving user adoption and the use of Gemini Enterprise-built capabilities at scale

The release cited one existing customer result as an example of the work. YouTube partnered with Accenture and Google Cloud to deploy a Gemini Enterprise agent during NFL Sunday Ticket surge demand, and the companies said the deployment boosted customer sentiment by 11% and cut average handle time by 37%.

Extending a Multi-Year Partnership

The formation draws on two earlier joint structures. In December 2023, the companies launched a global, joint generative AI Center of Excellence to help enterprises build and scale applications on Google Cloud’s generative AI portfolio. That center offered support ranging from model selection — including helping clients determine the optimal large language model, among them Gemini, from more than 130 models available through Model Garden on Vertex AI — to rapid prototyping services on Google Cloud.

On April 22, 2026, the companies announced the Gemini Enterprise Acceleration Program at Cloud Next ’26 in Las Vegas, bringing together thousands of AI-skilled engineers, forward deployed engineers, industry domain experts, and Faculty’s applied AI expertise. “The real shift is moving from using AI as a tool to deploying agents that can take on meaningful work across the enterprise,” Sweet said at the time.

That program delivers dedicated engineering power from Google and Accenture engineers on challenging customer use cases, early access to frontier models from Google DeepMind, decision intelligence built on the Accenture Intelligent Digital Brain and Faculty’s capabilities, and pre-built and sovereign AI agents available through the Google Cloud Marketplace. The companies also said in April that they were building an enterprise workbench for agentic commerce and a Generative Content OS offering with Accenture Song for marketing organizations.

Accenture earned Google Cloud’s 2026 Global Services Partner of the Year award for the fourth consecutive year, alongside recognition as Global Partner of the Year for Artificial Intelligence: Sales & Services and Global Public Sector. Everest Group has recognized Accenture as a Leader in Google Cloud services.

Yugal Joshi, partner at Everest Group, said the formation reflects an evolution in how leading service providers structure their commitment to Google Cloud AI delivery, and that the group aims to respond to growing buyer demand for partners that can translate AI investments into production-grade outcomes.

The announcement was datelined New York and Sunnyvale, California, and described the unit as global in scope, staffed in part with specialized Google Cloud engineering talent alongside Accenture personnel.

Accenture reported approximately 799,000 employees, approximately 9,000 clients, and approximately $70 billion in FY25 revenue, with Reinvention Services spanning cybersecurity, digital core, finance, supply chain and engineering, and talent practices. Google Cloud said customers in more than 200 countries and territories use its AI stack, which includes infrastructure, Gemini models, data management, security, developer tools, and agents.
