After more than 15 months of war, Israel and Hamas have agreed to a deal to end the fighting in Gaza, free almost 100 hostages still held by Hamas and hundreds of Palestinian prisoners in Israel. President Biden said the agreement will take effect on Sunday, NBC News’ Richard Engel reports. Adi Alexander, whose son Edan is among the American hostages held by Hamas, spoke with NBC News’ Lester Holt after the ceasefire and hostage agreement was announced.
