Lower oil and an improving jobs picture has 80% of endowment and foundations feeling that the U.S. economy is in a better place now compared to this time last year, said Catherine Konicki, Partner at NEPC. Konicki added that this response was significantly higher than in the last couple of quarters. She said 96% of those surveyed believe that the S&P will be positive in 2015, yet only 36% felt that this will be the best performing asset class in 2015. Konicki said hedge funds, private equity and real assets will be areas of focus in 2015, with investors looking to add to their exposure. Finally, Konicki said 68% of those surveyed believe that the Federal Reserve will hike interest rates this year.
