One of the biggest business trends of 2015 is ‘no-ownership’ business models like Uber and Airbnb disrupting decades-old industries, said Eamonn Kelly, Director at Deloitte Consulting LLP. Kelly added that this shift from ‘self-contained corporations’ to ‘business ecosystems’ is rendering old notions of asset ownership obsolete. He also said boundaries and constraints that have traditionally determined the evolution of business are dissolving, allowing new ecosystem possibilities to flourish. Furthermore, Kelly said investors seeking to capitalize on these trends should seek out the platforms where value is being created.
