Groupon Inc. (GRPN)’s sale of its 46% stake in Ticket Monster for $360 million could be a harbinger of things to come. Analysts believe the divestiture of the majority of its South Korean e-commerce business signals a shift in the online discount provider’s M&A strategy. Analysts told The Deal’s Jaewon Kang that divestiture candidates could include online retailer Ideel, home service provider Serviz Inc., and restaurant and bar management system Breadcrump. Private equity firms sprung for the Ticket Monster stake, and they could be interested in other Groupon assets as well. The Deal’s Senior Reporter Lisa Allen has the details from New York.
