Chemical-maker Zep will benefit from lower raw materials costs and a surge in car washes following the extreme winter, said Brad Evans, portfolio manager for the Heartland Value Plus Fund. Evans added that the company has recovered from a plant fire last year and has overcome its technology issues. He said Dean Foods will also benefit from lower raw materials costs as the price of raw milk and butter has substantially declined. Finally, Evans is bullish on Federal Signal, saying the water vacuum and filtration system seller has a stellar balance sheet and will benefit from an improving municipal market.
